I had hoped that one of the team would qualify for the next stage of the World Championships, but a few reverses in the last couple of rounds put paid to that.<BR/><BR/>As well as Jovanka Houska and Stephen Gordon who you mentioned, Nick Pert and Peter Wells also had excellent tournaments. David Howell made a good start, but lost 3 games in a row, and Gawain Jones would have got into a playoff for a qualification place had he won in the last round.<BR/><BR/>I spoke to Sophie and her dad Martin a couple of times during the tournament.
